VOICE, DIVERSITY AND EQUITY IN THE MULTI-CULTURAL CLASSROOM
Who Should Attend
Administrators, Principals, Assistant Principals, Teachers, and District Level Staff.
This course focuses upon the education of diverse student populations. Participants will learn about the emerging world’s population and will reflect on their experiences of teaching students whose home language and/or home culture may not be part of the main-stream culture. Emphasis is given to the history, culture and expectations of these groups as they apply to teaching, with particular focus on the unique challenges such diversity brings to the classrooms.
To strengthen understanding on how to successfully educate all students.
About the Presenter
Dr. John Bernard helps develop systems that promote excellence and nurture collaboration. He also provides services to clients in California through our DAIT and Technical Assistance teams. Additionally, he works with the school boards, school communities, superintendents and their cabinets in ensuring that efforts are coordinated for the benefit of the children they serve.
Dr. Bernard has served as Superintendent of several schools district in California. Prior to becoming a Superintendent, he was an Assistant Superintendent and Director of K-12 Instruction.
Dr. Bernard is widely recognized for his organizational management skills as well as his expertise and know-how in educational leadership. He has a successful track record of leading the groups of professionals, and forging partnerships with school boards and community organizations, in developing and implementing strategies that result in enhanced student achievement.
Dr. Bernard teaches graduate courses at California universities, and is often invited to speak at conferences on instructional leadership, multicultural education, and educational technology issues throughout the state, the nation, and abroad.
Hours of Instruction
Each Level Course is 15 hours of instruction over two full consecutive days with an opportunity for follow-up activities for the purposes of implementation of learned content.

Fees and Cancellation
Cost: 1,390 AED until January 8, 2018 (subject to space availability).
Cancellations received by January 8, 2018 will be subject to a 200 AED fee.
