Establishment and maintenance of a strong internal control structure is unquestionably the most critical area of school district financial management. Solid internal controls help districts maximize financial resources, prevent financial problems, and provide financial stability by safeguarding against waste and misappropriation.

 TSS staff has extensive experience and expertise in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive internal controls. We offer cost-effective and efficient solutions in the development and implementation of strong, practicable internal controls, including position control; expenditure management; use of overtime, extra-time, and substitute employees; and appropriate use of discretionary funds.

We also possess expertise in evaluating and examining existing internal control structures, developing recommendations for improvement and corrective measures, and providing training and assistance to district staff to ensure that improvements in internal controls are sustained over the long term.
